Community Support Worker

Overview
SWN are currently assisting a local aged care provider who is seeking Permanent Part-Time and Casual Community Support Workers to join their growing team in the Derwent Valley and surrounding regions, including the Central Highlands, Southern Midlands, and Greater Hobart areas. Community support workers provide support to people so that they can continue to enjoy living independent lives in their own homes. Services and care are designed in partnership with the people we support to achieve their health and wellbeing goals through a variety of services. For example:
- Assisting with personal care and domestic support
- Transporting clients to and from appointments
- Preparation of light meals
- Provides consumer-centred care to elderly recipients of support at home services in accordance with Aged Care Standards
- Provides the supports required and as needed by the consumer with respect for individuality, choice, privacy and dignity
- Contributes to continuous improvement by identifying risks or opportunity for improvement and work in accordance with provider's values, policies and procedures
Requirements
You are passionate about supporting the elderly and making a meaningful impact in their lives
Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support or Home & Community Care (or equivalent; please note: the provider is not an NDIS service provider)
Possess a current National Police Certificate and Working with Vulnerable People Card
Have a full Tasmanian Driver’s Licence and a suitable, insured vehicle
Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
Willing to travel up to 45 minutes to an hour for client visits is desirable
Desirable availability for approximately 4 hours per day, 5 days per week
