Kids & Teens in the Valley are hiring!

Job Title: Program Facilitator
Hours: 24 hours/ week, Permanent Part-Time, 4-Year Contract

A not-for-profit organisation supporting children and teens aged 6–18 in the Derwent Valley, Tasmania. We are seeking a Program Facilitator to design, deliver, and evaluate strengths-based programs for children and teens, including initiatives such as Growing Together: Fun Projects for Social Skills and Well-Being. This role focuses on creating engaging, inclusive, and youth-friendly programs that build confidence, connection, emotional skills, and a sense of belonging. Programs are designed to be safe, accessible, and developmentally appropriate, supporting positive youth engagement and wellbeing across the Derwent Valley.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate programs and activities for children and teens

  • Monitor participant progress and provide regular reports

  • Collaborate with community partners to enhance program outcomes

  • Ensure compliance with child safety and organisational policies

  • Deliver high-quality wrap-around support activities in line with best practice and TCFG funding guidelines

  • Plan, communicate, and action strategies to maintain student engagement and support

  • Undertake out-of-hours work when required (negotiated as needed)

  • Maintain accurate records of program activities and travel


Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services, or Education Support, or equivalent experience

  • Experience in program planning, delivery, and evaluation

  • Knowledge of child safety, risk management, and best practice approaches

  • Experience in training, facilitation, coaching, and mentoring

  • Full driver’s license required and access to a fully insured vehicle for local travel to schools and community events.   Reimbursement for travel kilometres provided.

  • First Aid and CPR certification desirable

They are a place-based organisation fully committed to improving the social and emotional well-being of young people 6-18 years and their families.
They run evidence-based personal growth programs, recreational and developmental activities, and a free school holiday program for children aged 6-12.
They are grateful to Communities for Children Southeast, who fund their 6-12 programs.
They will continue to work hard to build strong relationships with families, schools, other service providers, and the local community.
