Damon Willis

SWN would like to introduce Damon, our Career Advisor at the Jobs Hub in Pontville. Damon conducts face-to-face screening interviews with candidates, provides resume, cover letter and selection criteria support, barista and hospitality training, website/SEO advice and consulting.

Prior to joining the team, Damon had a large portion of his work history centred around the Hospitality industry, having worked in a busy Melbourne café in the Medical District for 4 years. He is also experienced in, and around, the Commercial Hotel space from Housekeeping to Concierge services. Since moving to Tasmania, Damon has found fulfillment in the Career Advisory role and passing on his knowledge to individuals interested in entering the Hospitality space.

Damon was born and raised in a small town in New Zealand’s North Island and made the move to Australia over 8 years ago. He enjoys meeting new people and immersing himself in new cultures and traditions. He intends to do more international travel in the future, with his sights set on Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, and the Central Americas. He is a big Mental Health advocate and steadily involving himself in more community events such as the Chinese Association of Tasmania and LGBTQIA+ events.

Damon’s favourite aspect of his role at SWN is being able to assist people in and around the local community, whether it be through training, providing career advice/motivation. He thoroughly enjoys being able to utilise his varied skills to contribute to our team.
